David Carrasco
Director & Co-Founder
David Carrasco, former All-American and WWPA Player of the Year at LMU, now serves as Club Director for Loyola Water Polo Club. With experience as both a standout player and coach at the collegiate level, he brings leadership, vision, and a passion for player development.
John Loughran
Co-Founder
John Loughran co-founded Loyola Water Polo Club after establishing himself as one of the most respected coaches in collegiate water polo. With over 400 career wins and multiple conference championships at LMU, he has helped shape generations of athletes.
Ruth Arino Ruiz
Club Manager
Ruth Ariño Ruiz is one of the most decorated players in LMU history, earning 3x All-American honors and 2x GCC Player of the Year. She also competed internationally with the Spanish National Team. Ruth brings elite international and collegiate experience to inspire and guide our Loyola athletes.

Our Facilities
The Burns Recreation Center Pool at Loyola Marymount University is a 50-meter by 25-yard competition pool. It can either be set up in a short-course format (16 x 25-yard lanes) or a long-course format (8 x 50-meter lanes). Our Splash ball program uses the shallow end of the pool while our age groups use the deep end.
