At Loyola Water Polo Club, we are committed to adopting a practice methodology that aligns closely with the European approach. We believe that commitment is paramount to the holistic development of our athletes, both within and beyond the pool. Our club upholds the highest standards of excellence, emphasizing core values such as commitment, discipline, work ethic, respect, teamwork, perseverance, and excellence. These principles are integral to our identity and are rigorously reinforced in every practice, game, and tournament. We strive to cultivate an environment that not only enhances athletic performance but also fosters personal growth and character development.

USA WATER POLO MEMBERSHIP

No player will be allowed to participate in any practice, scrimmage, or game unless they are registered with United States Water Polo. Prior to submitting LWPC registration all athletes must meet the following USA Water Polo Membership requirements:

- Gold Level USWP membership.

-  USAWP membership affiliated with Loyola Water Polo Club

-  Valid DOB Verification through USAWP.

-  Headshot uploaded to USAWP account.

AGE GROUPS

This season, LWPC will be offering age group programming for 10U & 12U coed and 14U boys only. Age groups are determined by an athletes age as of August 1, 2024

Our goal is to build our program and have 14,16 and 18U teams for both boys and girls in the future.

FREE TRIAL

We are excited to offer a two-week free trial for all new members.

To participate in the Loyola WPC, including the free trial, email loyolawaterpolo@loyolawaterpolo.com. Athletes will not be allowed in the water until the registration process is fully completed.

Athletes will need to register with USAWP and select the trial athlete option if is your first time registering.

SIBLING DISCOUNT

Enjoy a 10% discount on regular season dues for each additional sibling, applied to the younger sibling's fees. Please note that this discount is applicable only to training seasons and does not extend to tournaments or special events.

GAME/TOURNAMENT FEES

Additional game and tournament fees will be charged to your account and prior notice will be sent with the exact amount. The additional fees will cover tournament entry fee and coach expenses which include game fee, travel, per diem, and lodging, if necessary. Approximate game fees for local games are estimated at $80 per day. Costs for games may increase based on an increase in tournament entry fees and on the number of athletes participating.

REFUND POLICY

Once payments have been processed, refunds will not be given.

Expectations for Parents and Athletes

For Athletes:

  1. Commitment:
    • Attend all scheduled practices, games, and tournaments consistently.
    • Arrive on time and be ready to participate fully in all activities.
    • Notify coaches in advance if you cannot attend a practice or game.
  2. Effort and Attitude:
    • Give your best effort in every practice and game.
    • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards coaches, teammates, opponents, and officials.
    • Be open to feedback and strive to improve your skills continuously.
  3. Sportsmanship:
    • Display good sportsmanship at all times, both on and off the field.
    • Respect the rules of the game, the officials, and your opponents.
    • Support and encourage your teammates.
  4. Teamwork:
    • Work collaboratively with your teammates to achieve common goals.
    • Communicate effectively and constructively during practices and games.
    • Contribute to a positive team environment.
  5. Personal Responsibility:
    • Take care of your personal belongings and club equipment.
    • Follow all club and facility rules and guidelines.
    • Maintain good academic standing and balance your commitments responsibly.

For Parents:

  1. Support and Encouragement:
    • Encourage your child to attend all practices, games, and tournaments.
    • Support your child's commitment to the team and respect their dedication to the sport.
    • Provide positive reinforcement and constructive feedback.
  2. Respect:
    • Respect the decisions and authority of the coaches and officials.
    • Refrain from coaching your child during practices and games unless asked by the coaching staff.
    • Treat all players, coaches, officials, and other parents with respect.
  3. Communication:
    • Keep open lines of communication with the coaching staff regarding your child's progress, any concerns, or scheduling conflicts.
    • Inform the coaches promptly if your child cannot attend a practice or game.
  4. Involvement:
    • Participate in club events and meetings as much as possible.
    • Volunteer to assist with club activities, such as fundraisers, tournaments, and team functions.
    • Help promote a positive and supportive environment for all athletes.
  5. Commitment to the Club:
    • Ensure that all club fees and dues are paid on time.
    • Support the club's policies and procedures.
    • Encourage your child to adhere to the club's expectations and values.
